BABY SHOWER GIFT LIST
You might feel a little cheeky for putting a gift registry together, but really, you are doing yourself and guests a favour. Remember, some guests have never had babies before and would have no idea what to get, and you will notice, your ‘mom guests’ are almost as excited as you are about your baby’s arrival. You also don’t want duplicates of gifts unless they happen to be nappies or wet wipes!
So there are some things to keep in mind when writing your registry. Make sure you have thoroughly tested items that need testing. For example you may have a small car so it doesn’t make sense to get a stroller that doesn’t fold small enough to fit into your car. Everything on your list should suit your list. Add how old your baby will be in the different seasons, this just makes it easier for guests and will avoid you receiving ‘summery’ clothing for a winter baby, and visa versa. Don’t forget to be practical! You can never have enough diapers, wet wipes, baby lotion/soaps and facecloths! Here’s what you shouldn’t add on the list:
Feeding essentials
-
Formula
Just because no baby is the same and they, like we do, have preferences! -
Breast pump and nursing aids
Again, you will discover that some nipple creams work better than others do. You might also want to invest in a feeding pillow. (like pillows, nipple cream) -
Bottles and dummies
You might be breastfeeding most of the time but ‘mommy’ needs a break too! -
Diaper-rash cream and baby products
You will quickly find out what brands work for your baby’s skin, so don’t stock up on too much.
