CREATING THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE FOR YOUR PARTY

A lot of things go through your mind when you hear the word ‘Party’. Things like fun, food, music, new friends, and entertainment generally. A party is a gathering, but so is a business meeting. However, you do not attend a party with the same mindset and intent with which you would attend a business meeting. There are distinguishing factors. The whole point of a party is defeated if the guests do not feel the impact of whatever you are celebrating.

Whether you are dealing with baby showers, bridal showers, kids, engagement or birthday parties, it deserves proper planning. It is not so much as the amount of money and surplus of food put into the party, but the time you put into organising it. Proper organisation will ensure that the lighting, sound, colours, and events are all in line with the concept of the party. Trust me; if you can make your guests feel like a kid at a kid’s party, or fall in love at a bridal party, then you already have captured the hearts of your guests.

Creating the right atmosphere requires little more than good planning. Here are some ways you can create an awesome atmosphere for your party;

FOCUS ON THE THEME
The theme of anything is the underlying meaning of the event. What do you want the entire event to be centred on? Although your event may probably go great without a theme, including a theme makes it awesome. For instance, themes for baby showers are abundant. If the gender of the unborn baby is unknown, then you can choose a general kids theme. You want to make the environment, food, drinks and programs of the event fit into your theme. If you are using a bumble bee theme for a kid’s party, then you want people to be able to spell bumblebee once they get in. From the costume to the decoration, and even souvenirs, everything should show the theme. Getting a suitable theme will create the right atmosphere.

MUSIC
Well, I have never heard about any party without music. It could be cool, background music, or loud, blasting music. The whole idea is for your guests to enjoy it. Music is another thing that goes with theme. A retro-themed party with old school music playing in the background will have your guests travelling back to the 90s.

LIGHTING
You cannot stress the importance of suitable lighting in a party. The lighting can tell you if it is a cool sip-your-wine-and-sit-in-your-chair party, or a no-seats-allowed-dance-till-you-break party. The lighting is everything, and should neither be neglected nor wrongly used.

THE VENUE
You hopefully do not plan to have a rock-till-you-drop kind of party in an open, sunny garden, but baby showers and kids parties will suit this venue perfectly. In choosing the venue for your party, you must be careful. The venue is the first impression you give your guests in a party.

THE HOST
You as the host are the most important person to get that party atmosphere going. Remember to smile and interact with all your guests, be that social butterfly and most important of all don’t sweat the small stuff, if need be you can always grab a guest to help you.

Parties are great, especially when properly organized.
